Well, let me just show you what I made:
Notice a difference? I think not.
It's super easy. I made it in less than 10 minutes. It's also super cheap. Flower= <$1, Hair clips= <$3 for 12, ribbon= free (courtesy of my Mom). Here's how it's done:
Items needed: Flower, hair clip, ribbon, wax paper and glue gun (not pictured).
Cut ribbon to completely cover the top (bent) portion of the hair clip. Center it on a folded piece of wax paper. Open the barrette and carefully cover the underneath of the top piece with hot glue. Then, simply clip it to the ribbon and wax paper, making sure to line up the ribbon perfectly with the clip.
The folded piece of wax paper helps you to press the hot glue onto the ribbon/barrette without making a mess. It also helps to keep you from burning yourself.
Next, put more hot glue on the top of the barrette including the "handle" that you push to open the clip. Using the wax paper, fold the ribbon up and into the top of the barrette. Use the wax paper to apply pressure. Then place a small amount of glue underneath the "handle" fold the ribbon around to finish covering.
Here's what it should look like:
Easy enough. OK....now on to the flower. Turn the flower over and take off the green plastic backing.
Then take the hot glue gun and place glue in between the layers of petals as best as you can.
Clip the green stem on the back as close as you can to the base of the flower. You are creating a flat surface to glue the flower onto the barrette.
Then glob a bunch of hot glue onto the top of the barrette.
You're done!
You can now place it directly into the hair or, do what I do...

great job, miss crafty!!! i am sooo impressed that anna scott will actually keep it on her head. maddie will have nothing to do with barrettes. and she's the opposite of AS - she's got so much hair, she NEEDS barrettes!
